If you’re new to freelancing, you might be interested in an in-depth Fiverr review. Fiverr is often advertised as a website for finding freelancers. In truth, it is. The platform helps millions of freelancers connect and find work in different fields.
The unique side of this site is that you don’t apply for jobs like in Upwork. Instead, you’re looking to build your profile, present your services, and get hired when someone contacts you. If this sounds a bit complicated, believe us when we say it’s not.
Fiverr is used by people around the world and some make a living out of it. In today’s Fiverr review for 2025, we’ll tell you more about our experience with this site. We’ll talk from the perspective of freelancers and employers, as we’ve walked down both paths.
Also, our review of Fiverr will cover a few tips and tricks to get more work, payment methods, ease of use, and everything else you should know. Think of this like your Fiverr Bible, so it won’t be a short read – but an interesting one!

What Is Fiverr? Is It Legit?
Starting this Fiverr review, we have to answer a burning question – is it legit? Well, first of all, it IS legit. If you do a bit of digging, which you won’t have to thanks to our review, you’ll see this is one of the largest freelancing platforms.
This platform helps two types of people. Freelancers looking for work and those who need work done. Fiverr calls these people sellers and buyers respectively. One type of people is selling services, while the other buys those services.
According to our experience, Fiverr is legit. This is first-hand information. Many of our team members do occasional work on Fiverr and we found some of our members through this site. However, before you start chasing a career on this site, read our review.
How Does It Work?
Okay, so Fiverr works in two ways. When you first visit the site, you’ll have the option to join the platform. Click on Join in the top-right corner and you’ll be prompted to make a new account. Users can sign in with third-party services such as:
- Apple
Select one, sign in, and your account will be created. By default, you’re a buyer, which means you’ll be greeted by the Gigs screen. “Gigs” is a word for jobs on Fiverr, which means you’ll be able to get services from some of the most talented freelancers.
The platform offers gigs from a variety of areas like graphics/design, writing/translation, digital marketing, consulting, programming/tech, business, audio/music, and others. If you’re a buyer, you’re all set up. Pick the freelancer you want for the job and you’re set.

Additionally, buyers can use the search bar to find the service they want. Fiverr’s search engine is impeccable and will help you find what you need in seconds. For instance, you can search for something specific – a logo for a fashion company.
Type in “fashion logo design” and voila – the site will find 22,000+ results. Amazing! But what if you’re a seller and just want to sell your services? In that case, click on your profile icon in the upper-right part of the screen and select “Become a Seller.”
You’ll now have to create a seller account and provide a detailed description of your skills. Essentially, you’ll have to create a new gig, which, if you’re lucky, will get noticed by those in need of your work. We’ll cover this process in our Fiverr review in one of the following parts.
How to Find Freelancers on Fiverr?
If you need work done, Fiverr is perhaps the most intuitive site you can use. Finding freelancers here is extremely easy but ultimately comes down to your preferences. In this Fiverr review, we’ll explain how to find the best freelancer according to your needs.
Finding Freelancers Yourself
Finding people for your job yourself is the best way to go. You’ll see that Fiverr offers a few basic filters to help you out. However, you first need to pick the category. Let’s say you need a Logo Design. You’ll choose this category and then select a sub-category.
In our case, that was a Minimalist Logo Design. Now, Fiverr will display the best-selling services but you can apply filters such as:
- Logo Options
- Seller Details
- Budget
- Delivery Time
Logically, these filters won’t be the same for every field of work – this is just one example. From here, you can alter each filter to meet your needs and Fiverr will simultaneously show you the services according to your filters.
Once you click on the gig, you’ll see the seller’s profile with his/her reviews and packages – we’ll discuss these later. Select the package you want, customize it under “Order Options”, and pay for the gig. Before you do that, you can contact the seller.

Here, you can discuss details, attach files, and ensure the seller understands your requirements. We recommend doing that before paying. If you have it all cleared out, pay for the service and let the seller do his/her job. As you can see, it’s very simple.
Later in this Fiverr review for 2025, we’ll explain how to set up your payment method. We’ll also mention the option to find Pro Services from hand-picked freelancers. These top-rated freelancers provide exquisite work and usually have the highest rating.
They are, however, more expensive and might not be what you need if you’re on a budget.
Letting Freelancers Give You Offers
The platform allows for a unique way of finding freelancers, which is to let the platform find them. When using this feature, you have to provide a project title and explain, in 2,000 characters, the work you want to complete.

Fiverr allows you to attach files and select the category that fits your project. From here, you’ll add your budget and the time in which you want the project to be completed. In a while, your inbox will be filled with sellers that Fiverr found for you.
The process will be the same from here. You’ll get in touch with the seller, discuss the terms of the project, agree on the price, and get your work done. One more thing – Fiverr can also be tailored to your needs by providing a bit more information about yourself.

This information is about your business, the industry you’re in, your business type, your role in that business, etc. Once these parameters are in place, Fiverr will display gigs that fit the description the best. Quite a neat addition.
Finding Work on Fiverr As a Freelancer
In this Fiverr review, we’ll analyze what it takes to find work on this website. As said, by default, you’ll be a buyer but if you click on your profile icon and click on “Become a Seller“, you’ll have the option to build and customize your seller profile.
When talking about building your profile, Fiverr will require a profile picture, display name, full name, and a 600-character description of your work experience. Also, you’ll need to add the language you’re speaking and then move on to Professional Info.
Fiverr requires you to add your skills, occupation, education, and certification. Some of these aren’t mandatory and you can skip them – the last two, in particular. Finally, provide your email and phone number and you’re set.
Creating Your Gig
Selles operate through gigs that they offer to their clients. Usually, they begin with “I will” and then you have to describe what you’ll do. For example, “I will write you a complete nutrition plan based on your needs.” Select a category and add a few keywords after that.

Now, you have to define your pricing and packages. Fiverr allows for three tiers; Basic, Standard, and Premium. If you don’t want to offer packages, you can disable the option and have just one offer. This will depend on your gig type.

Either way, this is just one of many steps. Once the pricing structure is completed, you’ll have to add an FAQ, description, requirements, and a gallery of images if you want. For instance, if you’re doing logo design, you can add some of your magnum opus works.
After you’re done, Fiverr will let you publish the gig and start working once someone gets in touch with you. An excellent thing is that the platform allows you to add a video presentation, where you can talk more about your services and introduce yourself.
If you’re not shy, this is going to be the icing on the cake.
Some Tips for Finding Work on Fiverr
Finding work on Fiverr in 2025 is incredibly difficult, which is one of our main critiques in today’s review. 7-8 years ago, one of our team members made an account and posted one simple gig to see how well it’ll do. He then forgot about it completely.
However, after randomly remembering it and going to Fiverr again, he saw 3 people interested in the gig he offered. Alas, that was like 2-3 weeks later and these people already found their freelancer, so it was way too late.
In other words, he could start working in 2-3 weeks, which nowadays, won’t be so simple. Fiverr is SO vast that working your way up can be tedious. But you don’t have to struggle so much if you give it your best shot. Here are a few helpful tips.
Use an Enticing Gig Title
Gig titles are extremely important in our book. Fiverr allows you to use only 80 characters, so think about what you’ll do with them. Attractive titles sell more and oftentimes, shorter titles attract more attention than longer titles.
Price the Gig Reasonably
When it comes to pricing, we all value our work. We know you’d like to get paid for your hard work immediately but if you’re new to Fiverr, you’re incognito. No one knows about you. No one knows how capable you are. You’re – no offense – no one.
That’s why your gigs should come with a reasonable price tag that you’ll over time, increase. As your experience goes up and you complete more projects, you can slowly increase the price if your clients are satisfied with the work.
Include a Video Presentation
We know this is a nightmare for you introverts but in our experience, video presentations make you look more professional. You can do this in many ways but we recommend writing a script and then using a teleprompter to help you stick to it fully.
The video shouldn’t be 10 minutes long. It should be a short but concise presentation of your gig and a bit about yourself to connect with people more easily. Find a decent background, dress properly, and record a presentation – you’ll see the results quickly.
Boast About Your Most Ambitious Projects
In this Fiverr analysis, we’ll mention that bragging about your ambitious projects is great. You can do this in your video presentation or gig/profile description. Showcase your best work and if suitable, add images of your previous work in the gallery.
This will signal to buyers that you’re experienced and ready to tackle new challenges.
Don’t Forget About Packages
Finally, we advise using packages whenever possible. For some gigs, that’s unsuitable but for the majority, it is. As explained, these are service tiers that allow buyers to choose the one they deem useful. A fixed gig might not suit everyone’s needs.

For one, a buyer might not need everything you offer in it, yet, the price might also be higher. Two, having a fixed-price gig means you’re not flexible enough and a buyer might have a specific requirement that, on paper, you don’t offer.
With packages, you can give your buyers more leeway to choose. These packages include various parameters, such as delivery time, price, ongoing support, and many others. Crafting reasonably priced packages takes time but nothing worthy comes quickly!
Fiverr Pro Review: What Is It?
On this platform, you’ll find something called Fiverr Pro. Unlike Upwork which has two subscription plan tiers and charges you for a higher-tier account, Fiverr Pro is free. In this Fiverr review, we’ll go over it and explain how it works.
First of all, Fiverr Pro is made for buyers and is a service for finding freelancer services. This time, you’ll be working with certified professionals who will likely charge you higher but simultaneously provide higher-quality services.
The difference between Fiverr and its Pro offering is displayed in the screenshot below. Both are free, as you see but the Pro version offers more payment methods, team collaboration tools, and unlimited users per account. This makes finding eligible freelancers simpler.

Interestingly, Fiverr Pro includes a business success manager and project management services for eligible users. If you have an account on Fiverr, it doesn’t matter because you’ll have to sign up for another account with a different email.
In our experience, Fiverr Pro makes a difference if you want to get the most out of your business. You’ll surely pay slightly more but the level of service is high. Also, freelancers can become Pros through an invitation by Fiverr’s recruitment team.
Other Fiverr Features
To ensure we cover every nook and cranny of this service, our Fiverr review for 2025 will go over other notable features we found useful.
Fiverr Learn
This part of the website is incredibly useful for sellers. If you lack skill in a certain field of work, here, you can complete courses held by the world’s leading experts. Fiverr Learn allows you to participate in marketing, writing, business, and many other courses.

They’re not free but in our opinion, they shouldn’t be given their usefulness later on. With every completed course, Fiverr will assign you a badge of completion visible on your profile. This will help you immensely in the employment process as a seller.
When a buyer notices your investment in knowledge and skill, he/she will likely be interested in your services more. Fiverr Learn allows you to learn TONS of new stuff from different experts and courses vary in price. They usually start at just around $30.
However, longer, and more extensive courses can cost close to $100 and sometimes above. For instance, we found an incredibly useful “Complete Freelancing Guide” at under $95, which lasts nearly 3 hours. It’s filled to the brim with nifty advice and tips.
Fiverr Enterprise
The platform offers a variety of business solutions, one of which is Fiverr Enterprise. We won’t go in-depth here, as it’s only for teams and businesses looking for professional-grade freelancers. That said, you likely don’t fall into this category.

Fiverr Enterprise isn’t free and the price depends on your need. You’ll need to provide the number of employees/freelancers, your department, and so on. Then, Fiverr will come back to you with an offer. Bear in mind its pricing model is percentage-based.
It will take a percentage of your monthly spending, so the company gets paid after your freelancers receive money. This platform includes advanced features such as:
- Unlimited freelancers
- Tax compliance
- Talent sourcing
- Advanced Reporting
- Payment in 190 countries, and so on.
Fiverr Review of Payments and Fees
We all love working as long as we get paid – otherwise, it makes no sense. So, how does Fiverr work regarding payments and fees? Fees first. Simply put, there’s a flat 20% commission fee for every transaction as a seller. Let us explain.
If a buyer pays $100 for your service, you’ll receive $80 after the job is complete. Fiverr also takes a 20% fee for so-called tips. Tips are when the buyer pays you on top of the agreed price if he/she is very satisfied with your work.
Fiverr also includes a service fee, which is 5.5% at the time of testing. A service fee applies to buyers who purchase the service from a seller. If a service is $100, a buyer would have to pay $105.5 and so on. Smaller purchases also come with an “order fee.”
This one is fixed at $2.5 and applies to purchases under $75.
How to Get Paid and Withdraw Money From Fiverr?
As a freelancer, you’re getting paid in advance – that’s how the platform works. However, you don’t get your money immediately. The client needs to make a payment and you’ll get your money only when the agreed work is finished.
Before you do that, you need to set up your payment method. When discussing payment methods, Fiverr offers a few of them, such as:
- PayPal
- Credit Card
- Payoneer
- Wise Bank Transfer
The availability of these methods will depend on your location. For example, in our case, we could choose from PayPal and credit cards only. Regardless, go to your profile and in “Billing and Payments” set up the payment method by following the steps.

The minimum withdrawal from Fiverr is $1 and there are no fees on Fiverr’s side. However, PayPal’s conversion is problematic, as well as the fact that each transaction is from $1 to $10, depending on the amount of money.
When using Payoneer, the minimal withdrawal is $30 and the withdrawal fee of $1 is there. The Wise Bank Transfer won’t work in every country but it’s great because withdrawals are instant and there’s no minimum withdrawal limit.
However, this transfer has a flat fee of around $4 per payment. Despite its conversion fees, we prefer PayPal because it’s straightforward. The only downside is long waiting times of 7 to 14 days before the money arrives at PayPal.
If you’re an ordinary seller, you’ll wait 14 days, whereas, Pro sellers wait for only 7.
Refunds & Cancellations
Let us cover an important clause in this Fiverr review – the one about cancellations and refunds. If you’re a buyer, it’s good to know that despite upfront payments, your payment is SAFE with Fiverr. As said, it takes 14 days for the money to arrive in the seller’s account after it’s released from the escrow.
To release it, you have to approve the work – Fiverr won’t do that for you. If you’re dissatisfied, you can always contact the seller for further revision until his/her work meets your requirements. However, you have 3 days from the moment the seller hands over the work to react accordingly.
If you fail, Fiverr will take the money from the escrow and hand it to the seller. The good news is that you can cancel your order if the freelancer you’ve chosen doesn’t meet your expectations. In this case, the money will be refunded.
Overall, Fiverr’s payments are safe and users rarely have problems. We dislike its higher 20% fees for sellers accompanied by service and “order fees” for buyers that make purchases more expensive.
Ease of Use: Fiverr Reviews of Simplicity & Apps
Fiverr is easily among the most intuitive freelancing platforms. We explained how everything functions in this Fiverr review. Creating an account is a one-minute process and buying services is extremely simplified. Conversely, freelancers on Fiverr enjoy fair treatment.

Creating gigs takes a bit of time but it’s not frustrating. On the opposite – it’s interesting and flexible, with easy-to-set-up parameters to customize your experience. Fiverr’s straightforward approach means you can easily switch from Buyer and Seller accounts.
As a seller, your dashboard will display all profile-related info, including your earnings. As a buyer, you’ll see popular gigs corresponding to your preferences. Like Upwork, Fiverr has excellent mobile apps for iOS and Android. They’re full-fledged, so to speak.
Using them, you can track your work, check your earnings, and approve or disapprove the work you received from the seller. We also like its messaging function, which allows you to communicate with other people on the fly, adding to the convenience.

Fiverr is simultaneously one of the best-rated mobile apps on iOS and Android, with more than 500K positive reviews on both sides. To be honest, we prefer this app over Upwork, as the latter still needs improvement and additional optimization.
Fiverr, on the other hand, looks and feels more premium. Not to mention that the iOS app allows for an additional payment method – Apple Pay. This allows you to buy the service or receive payments in seconds. All in all, a pretty enjoyable experience.
Customer Support
In terms of customer support, we’re satisfied with what we got in our Fiverr review. The platform can be contacted through email or by submitting a ticket. These are similar. We must say the support team is helpful and eager to fix your problems.
The only issue is response time, which tends to be longer than expected. After sending a request, we had to wait for nearly 24 hours to get a response. Urgent problems won’t be fixed promptly but at least, they will be fixed and Fiverr is very serious about that.

Our team members had a few disputes that needed customer support’s intervention. In every case, Fiverr’s support team resolved the situation to make both parties happy – the buyer and the seller. When discussing support, we should mention on-site solutions.
Namely, Fiverr’s site is filled with nifty guides and tutorials to help you get started. We like its helpful tricks and videos that frequently hide the answer to all your questions. Another perk is the community forum, where you can get in touch with other Fiverr users.
From here, you can get all of your questions answered by administrators and other users who are just like you. In our Upwork test, the support team was slightly faster to respond. However, Upwork has live chat support, alas, it isn’t working 24/7.
Fiverr Review: Our Final Verdict
After examining this freelancing website, it’s time to conclude this review of Fiverr for 2025. To cut it short, Fiverr is a legit, highly valuable freelancing platform where you’ll surely find your place. It has plenty of work for freelancers and a heap of projects for buyers.
This is a perfect place not only for individuals but also for companies and enterprises looking to get stuff done. Fiverr is far beyond many people’s imagination, as the platform stretches to the very ends of freelancing and education, to ensure a better community for all.
Freelancers will be able to educate themselves and get better at their work. They’ll also be able to charge more due to certificates and buyers will benefit from higher-quality work delivered on time. Fiverr isn’t perfect – no one and nothing is.
Despite the platform’s reputation, scammers appear, albeit seldom. Also, its higher-than-usual fees won’t make sellers the happiest. Upwork’s 10% flat fee is still superior to Fiverr’s 20% fee for all transactions. We should mention Fiverr’s size as a downside.
Much like Upwork, Fiverr is vast, making it difficult to land your first job. This is even more prevalent considering you don’t bid on projects, so you have to be chosen by buyers based on your portfolio. Inexperienced and new users will have a tough time getting started.
At the end of the day, we think Fiverr doesn’t favor buyers or sellers – both are welcome. Thanks to reliable customer support, payments on Fiverr are secure, keeping both buyers and sellers at peace, knowing their money is well spent and earned.
