Internxt has seen massive improvements in the last few years. During our Internxt review, we were enthralled by its excellent features that extend to more than online storage. In 2025, the company pairs its reliable, encrypted cloud storage with a VPN and virus protection to ensure optimal privacy.
However, that’s not all, as the company offers excellent-value lifetime plans, apps for all devices, and some of the fastest transfer speeds we tested. Overall, Internxt is exciting, but it has a few flaws that we pointed out in our in-depth review. Looking to buy it? Read this review beforehand.

We’ll kick off this Internxt test by examining its plans and prices because we think this is the most interesting part. You’ll notice that Internxt costs less than its competitors, especially if you pick one of the Lifetime plans. So, let’s start with them. Below are Internxt’s three lifetime plans:

Don’t let the prices in Euros confuse you. Internxt is a European cloud storage service. However, if you’re in the USA, the prices are identical, but in American Dollars, which makes Internxt slightly cheaper in your region. Lucky you. Nevertheless, let’s examine Internxt’s annual prices:
Again, we have the same plans, but now:

- Premium is $239 annually
- Ultimate is $359 annually
You’ll agree that Internxt’s annual plans are pricey, pointing out the fact that the company wants you to splurge on their Lifetime plans. Compare Ultimate’s Lifetime and annual versions, and you’ll notice that the former is 85% off. In fact, all plans are 85% off compared to annual lengths.
Internxt is incredibly affordable, and with a 30-day money-back guarantee, you can test the service for a month and be reimbursed if you don’t find it particularly impressive.
One noteworthy thing is the number of features you get in each plan. You’re not blind (we hope so) and can spot them in the two screenshots above. However, we’ll discuss our experience with these features later in this Internxt review for 2025.
Applications and Ease of Use
For now, we’ll focus on its applications and ease of use.
We want to point out that Internxt is compatible with all devices and systems, so you can use it on:
- Windows, macOS, and Linux computers
- Android and iOS tablets and smartphones
Additionally, Internxt supports WebDAV, which you won’t find in Sync or other pricier rivals (except pCloud). Internxt has open-source apps, allowing virtually anyone to examine them and fix their potential problems. This explains why its applications are polished and straightforward.
Internxt on the Web
By far the best application is the web-based one.
You’ll use it the most, and frankly, you’ll be glad because it’s smooth, responsive, and with a drag-and-drop interface. Everything is laid out clearly, with your files in the middle and options on the right. From there, you can access your backups, shared files, and a trash folder with deleted files.
There’s also a dedicated Upload Files button, plus, with the right mouse click, you can create new folders akin to the desktop File Explorer. Internxt doesn’t have many advanced features, so the interface may feel a bit barren. There are no settings to tweak, except for appearance, which is nice.
However, you can at least access your backups and manage your files directly through the web app. If you want to initiate a backup, you’ll do this through the desktop app. Thankfully, you can download it with a single click by clicking on Desktop on the left-hand side. After that, you’ll have to install it.
Internxt on Desktop & Mobile
When you do, it’ll look like this:
The small app window sticks to the taskbar in the bottom-right corner. By clicking on the Globe icon, you can go back to the web app. Conversely, the drop-down menu lets you sync all files with a click. Notice how there’s no selective syncing. When you press Sync, it automatically syncs them all.
Regardless, the Gear icon launches preferences, where you can access Internxt’s other tools.
They include backups and antivirus software. We mentioned that Internxt offers a VPN, but it’s a separate application. Desktop users will also get an Internxt Drive, which is a virtual drive displayed in your File Explorer. It acts as a… well, drive, where you can copy and paste files to upload or download them.
Its Windows, macOS, and Linux integration is pitch-perfect, allowing for swift transfers without second thoughts.
The same goes for its mobile apps that resemble the simplicity and allow for some additional functions, such as camera auto-uploads and biometric sign-ins. Mobile and web apps look virtually identical, ensuring maximum ease of use and no learning curve when switching from one device to another.
In our Internxt review, we were more than satisfied with ease of use and convenience. With apps for all systems and robust WebDAV support, you’ll enjoy Internxt’s versatility with each use.
Internxt Review: Features & Functionalities
Intenxt’s simplicity stems from its straightforward interface and rather basic features. To be honest, we’ve been using Internxt for years, and while we generally like it, we mourn the lack of specific features.
Let’s analyze what it offers and doesn’t offer.
File Sharing
Do you know what cloud storage is? It’s a tool that stores your files on a remote server, but more importantly, lets you share them effortlessly.
Internxt allows you to share files through links, which you can protect with a password. Moreover, you can manage permissions and allow certain recipients to view, modify, or download the file.
We like the option to switch from Public to Restricted in settings, allowing everyone or only specific people to access the file. Internxt lets you invite people to view or edit the file, where the recipient will be notified for more convenience. Still, we dislike the lack of more advanced sharing options.
Taking pCloud as an example, that provider offers branding, allowing you to customize your links and personalize them to your liking. However, pCloud also includes expiry dates and download limits, which pCloud lacks. We’d like to see this changed down the line.
Cloud Backups and Syncing
Like other online storage providers, Internxt allows you to back up your files to the cloud.
Backups are facilitated through your macOS, Windows, or Linux computer, so they’re limited. In comparison, pCloud allows you to back up files from your mobile devices and third-party cloud storage providers.
Nevertheless, Internxt’s backups are straightforward.
You open the app, go to Backups, and select the folder or drive you want to back up. Internxt lets you set a backup frequency from hourly to daily, or manually choose the frequency. This segues into syncing, which is closely related to backups, especially because of the frequency variable.
Internxt will sync your backup folder’s changes to the cloud periodically. However, syncing also works system-wide, and syncs all files to the cloud (from the selected drive). Unfortunately, Internxt doesn’t offer block-level syncing or selective syncing, making the feature a bit basic.

File Versioning
File versioning has been a topic of debate for Internxt, and in 2025, the company has yet to implement it. According to its roadmap, file versioning should appear soon, but the exact date is unknown.
It’s a shame that Internxt lacks file versioning because it’s convenient if you frequently edit, let’s say, documents, and want to keep older versions on the cloud. File versioning allows you to revert to the old version if needed, and without it, you have to manually keep older versions, which is tedious.
We hope to see this feature soon; otherwise, Internxt will still feel “unfinished”.
Multimedia Functions
Let’s discuss multimedia functions, which aren’t Internxt’s strong suit.
This cloud storage works for storing and previewing photos. However, for some reason, photo and video previews are incredibly slow. It’s as if Internxt actually downloads them to a “temporary” folder before previewing them. We have a few PNG photos (not more than 1.5 MB), and they take about two seconds to load.
After trying to watch an MP4 video, it took about three minutes to load the preview. Again, as if Internxt downloaded the file somewhere before reproducing it. We tried the same on our Android and iOS devices, and using the same files, it took nearly the same.
At least video reproduction is improved.
Internxt offers a PIP (Picture-in-Picture) mode where you can watch a video while managing and sharing your files. As for documents, Internxt allows full-on previews, but editing must be done manually, by downloading the document and using appropriate software, making productivity work less manageable.
Is Internxt Fast for Transfers?
Our Internxt review includes a speed test, where we examined the provider’s transfer times. We did this in its web application on a Windows 11 desktop computer. To ensure maximum accuracy, we updated our network adapter drivers and installed the newest Windows 11 version.
Before we measured transfer times, we performed a quick speed test that looked like this:
We can say our internet speed is roughly 50/10 Mbps, with a few percent up or down.
With this test done, we made a RAR file with 3 GB of various files, including documents, music, videos, and photos. Based on simple math, with the given speeds, our file should upload in roughly 40 minutes and download in about 8 minutes. That is, if we use our full network power.
So, how did Internxt perform?
We started our file upload at 11:20 and turned on our stopwatch. The upload finished at 12:07, which was roughly 47 minutes (a few seconds above).
We then started our file download at 12:09, turned on the stopwatch, and confirmed the result of about 9 minutes (exactly 9 minutes and 23 seconds).
This was a tremendous result. In comparison, pCloud was only ten to twelve percent faster in our tests. NordLocker, Sync, and even Google Drive are slower than Internxt considerably, making this provider among the top picks for fast and reliable transfers.
Security & Privacy Analysis
There’s a lot to discuss in this aspect because Internxt goes an extra mile to ensure your files, but also your private information, are safe from harm. We applaud Internxt for its valiant efforts.
Servers & Privacy
Internxt is a Spain-based cloud storage service. To be accurate, it’s based in Valencia, where all of its servers reside. In our book, this is an excellent server location because of European stringent privacy laws. In other words, Internxt shouldn’t be forced to hand out any sensitive information to the authorities.
That can be seen in its privacy policy. Internxt stores only a few bits of data required to function. Unlike OneDrive or Google Drive, Internxt won’t sniff through your files to “look for viruses and malware”. Everything you upload or download from Internxt is known only to you, and here’s why.
Zero-Knowledge Encryption
Encryption. The backbone of every cloud storage service.
While pCloud, its superior rival, charges you additionally, Internxt includes zero-knowledge, post-quantum, end-to-end encryption in all paid plans. You’ll notice that, when you open the web app, it takes about a second or two to decrypt your files. This signifies that pCloud uses advanced encryption.
Zero-knowledge encryption means you hold the decryption keys and only you can access your files. The post-quantum attribute means this is the encryption type immune to quantum computer attacks, ensuring maximum file security even against the most fierce, nearly imperceptible threats.
Internxt belongs to the best cloud storage services with encryption. It’s free, unlimited, and you don’t have to do anything besides uploading your files to protect them.
Antivrus & VPN
Premium plans come with antivirus and a VPN, and while not the best options in the business, they offer plenty of protection with already secure cloud storage.
For instance, antivirus is built into the Internxt desktop app and makes system or custom scans easy. You can scan the entire computer or select specific folders. Scanning takes a while, depending on the drive size, and Internxt detects 99.9% of the threats, allowing you to remove or quarantine them.
Out of curiosity, we compared it to Norton Antivirus and achieved the same results. While Norton’s offer is a lot better and more flexible, Internxt’s equivalent is no less impressive, particularly because it’s not a ‘dedicated’ option but a small cloud storage add-on.
Internxt VPN is browser-based and can be downloaded from the browser’s app store. It includes five locations: the UK, Canada, Poland, France, and Germany. It’s one of the rare VPNs without US VPN servers, but if sidestepping geo-blocks isn’t a priority, this VPN provides enough privacy.
However, don’t expect extensive features like double VPN servers, P2P-optimized servers and others. After all, it’s a VPN extension for basic security and privacy (with ad-blocking!) to complement the rest of the package.
Other Security Features
We mention nearly all security features in this Internxt review, but left out 2FA. 2FA or Two Factor Authentication prevents unauthorized access by authenticating the user who tries to sign in. It’s a few-second job, but it’s highly effective against snoopers trying to access and abuse your files.
We haven’t mentioned file redundancy, a tremendous file security tool.
Internxt copies parts of your files across multiple data centers, ensuring they’re always available to you. If one data center malfunctions, other centers have your files, so there’s no downtime, and you can always fetch them, which is essential when you need them urgently.
After our extensive Internxt review of security and privacy, we concluded it’s among the most secure cloud storage providers you can use in 2025.
Does Internxt Offer a Free Plan?
Internxt offers free cloud storage, but to balance out its dirt-cheap prices, it’s far from the best option if you don’t want to spend a dollar.
While pCloud offers 10 GB and Google Drive offers 15 GB, Internxt’s free storage has been reduced to only 1 GB. 1 GB is sufficient for Word documents and Excel sheets. However, it’s insufficient for music, videos, and photos, especially high-res ones that can take up to five or more megabytes.
We tested it by trying to upload an entire photo album from one of our vacations. With about 100 photos from our iPhone, we ended up filling almost 70% of our storage and had no space to upload a few more videos. To be clear, free cloud storage is rarely used for photos and videos.
However, pCloud’s 10 GB is far from useless and can store ample multimedia material. On top of that, Internxt’s free plan lacks other features, including backups, antivirus, and others. Nothing strange!
Customer Support
Internxt’s support team is surprisingly attentive. The support widget on the home screen is where you’ll find all the help you’ll need. You can use Internxt’s AI agent or get in touch with a human, which usually takes about half an hour, depending on when you choose to contact Internxt.
If you don’t want to wait, you can explore Internxt’s Help Center and find answers to frequently asked questions. The Help Center also contains how-to guides related to cloud storage, VPN, antivirus, and Internxt’s Send file-sharing tool. In our book, the Help Center is already sufficient.
We never had issues with Internxt, so we didn’t have to solve anything. However, after asking a few mundane questions, the support team was always helpful and answered them concisely, which is commendable.
Internxt Review: The Final Verdict
At the end of this Internxt review for 2025, let’s summarize our thoughts and determine if the service is worth purchasing. After extensive tests, some of our team members still use it, which speaks volumes about it. Considering its transfer speed, security, privacy, ease of use, and the price, Internxt is worth getting in 2025.
